Beng Thin was founded by Mr Lim Yew Hoon, a migrant from China. He first served the Fujian community in Singapore from a shophouse on Hokkien Street. Before long , Beng Thin became a gathering place for Fujian families, friends and business partners.
Over the years , other dialect and ethnic groups came to know and started appreciating authentic Fujian Cuisine. Singaporeans then began to recognise Beng Thin as the oasis for provincial Fujian cuisine where birthdays, weddings, annniversary, and special occasions of families and business friends are celebrated.
Having been part of the Singapore community for the last 70 years, Beng Thin has seen and served generations of loyal friends and customers.
Beng Thin is one of the few restaurants who have grown up and become part of the fabric of Singapore and will continue to do so for generations to come.
